Why we should be Grateful

In day-to-day life, it’s easy to get caught up in the busy, active world. The stress of daily life is constant, and it can be hard to remember to take a moment to breathe and appreciate what makes life wonderful. When we pause to think about what we are grateful for, it can make not only us, but those around us feel happier. Martial artists of all ages have a great appreciation for what makes their life great and the ways their martial arts have helped them.

Children are grateful to make new and lasting friendships at Buzz Durkin’s karate school.  At school, they may lack similar interests with their classmates, or simply not have a group of close friends. Everyone at a karate school shares a similar passion and it is easy to make new friendships and connections. With the help of friends and the teachers at the dojo, children are able to build confidence. It is important that everyone, martial artist or not, takes a moment to think about what they are grateful for. When a person focuses on what they are grateful for, they are focusing on what makes them happy, leading to a more optimistic outlook. This positivity can help improve relationships with friends and family is a great way to improve productivity in work, school, or other hobbies. Everyone should take a moment and think: what am I grateful for?
