Nanadan - 7th Degree Black Belt
Shihan - Master Instructor
I bring three decades of martial arts experience across multiple disciplines to my practice, with over 26 years dedicated specifically to Uechi‑Ryu. Since relocating to southern New Hampshire in 2000, I have been a steadfast member of the Uechi‑Ryu Butokukai, training under Judan Buzz Durkin, Hanshi.
Uechi‑Ryu is more than a martial art — it is a way of life. I embrace the concept of living a “Uechi‑Ryu Lifestyle,” where the values of discipline, respect, and self‑improvement guide my actions both inside and outside the dojo. This philosophy has shaped my character and continues to influence my personal and professional life.
I am proud that my daughter and son‑in‑law join me in training, creating a unique multi‑generational bond. Together, we embody the spirit of Uechi-Ryu and the Butokukai, supporting one another in our individual and collective growth.
Beyond my family, I am deeply committed to the broader dojo community. I strive to uplift others through mentorship, encouragement, and by setting a consistent example of integrity and perseverance.
