Women’s Self-Defense Class at Buzz Durkin's Uechi Karate School
Saturday, November 8th at 10am
(it is recommended you arrive somewhere between 9:30 and 9:45am)
Our Self-Defense class is a dynamic, hands-on self-defense workshop designed specifically for women of all ages and fitness levels. This class blends practical techniques with empowering mindset strategies to help you feel safer, stronger, and more in control—wherever life takes you.
This class is designed to enrich participants through physical activity and life skill development in a safe and secure environment. We do this primarily through our award winning karate program which teaches self-defense skills, confidence, and focus. Participants will experience a number of fun activities that are designed to keep them fit and healthy - physically and mentally.
Our class will work on:
Situational awareness and risk reduction
Verbal assertiveness and boundary-setting
Simple, effective physical techniques to escape grabs and holds
How to use everyday objects for protection
Strategies for staying calm and focused under pressure
What should I bring?
Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes
Water bottle (we have plenty here, if you forget)
A willingness to learn and support others
And most important of all - a winning attitude!
